DE CECCO FRESH POTATO GNOCCHI // REVIEW //
sucks ✓ / passable ☐ / great ☐ / perfect ☐
SO FOR REFERENCE. my sister & i are wandering around the store last week (spring 2026, just to be clear on the year) & we are hungry. & we see this pasta(?) WELL we should’ve known there was something suspicious about this “fresh” gnocchi that was 1) not vacuum packed 2) on the regular shelf not the cold aisle 3) supposed to last till………..2027
but. instead we were like :) yay! let’s try something new! ଘ(੭◕ᵕ◕)੭*✩
well we cooked it according to instructions and it smelled…….
really distinctly sour ◖⚆_⚆◗ in a NOT GOOD WAY. because of the ten million & one preservatives1 (whoops) in its little shapey-not-pastas. no wonder it’s supposed to last till 2027 this thing isn’t fresh!!!!!! not a bit and, my sister (very brave) tries one & says it tastes 1) sour & 2) distinctly like nothing at all.
and this whole smell fills the room, the pasta water also smells gross, and after a short discussion, we decided to throw it away & eat penne2.
so we stuck the “fresh” gnocchi in the compost pile where it can become formaldehyde to its heart’s content. because the squirrels aren’t eating it either (i guess they have good taste)
SO tl;dr DON’T BUY THIS GNOCCHI
WHERE TO BUY: just don’t buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was in our supermarket. but don’t buy it.
***general disclaimer. check certification & ingredients, use your judgment. not everything I review is certified
yeah the preservatives were like, something something acid… no wonder it was so sour
in the grand tradition of every restaurant that’s ever offered a gluten free option

hahaha - thanks for this tale of adventure and humorous take! or, don't-take
