Let’s get this rating out of the way to start with: these cookies are perfect.
sucks ☐ / passable ☐ / great ☐ / perfect ✓
I’m not a particular fan of sesame. I don’t dislike it! It just doesn’t make me go “mm, sesame. yum!” HOWEVER. these sesame cookies are AMAZING. EXQUISITE. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. IN SHORT….
these are real cookies.
You know what I mean. The kind where it’s thick and soft on the inside but with that crunchy edge. That kind with a perfect crumbly crumb and a subtle cookie-ified taste. Basic cookies, but that’s underselling this.
the PINNACLE of basic cookies. The Ubiquitous Cookie. A Cookie to Remember.
Look, this cookie is just… really, really good.
It’s not stale and dry as dust like most gluten free cookies are. It doesn’t taste like flattened cardboard. It’s the kind of thing you would buy somewhere fancy in the city and then think about for ages afterward. It’s not good “for a gluten free cookie.” It’s a good cookie, period.
So forget about whether or not sesame seeds really excite you (unless you’re a huge fan of them, in which case: guess what? These cookies have sesame seeds on them as well as sesame in them! And they look so nice!)
Just buy Chala’s GF Treats Tahini Sesame cookies… you will not regret it… unless you eat all three huge cookies at once and get sick from too much sugar. hopefully you do not do that.
cons: three huge cookies come in the same bag. depending on how you look at it, this may not be a con though… also, they have millet flour in them, which I try to avoid. [but look,,,, i do not buy cookies that often. so.]
WHERE TO BUY: in person in a few shops in Westchester, NY. Check their instagram for more details: Chala’s GF Treats (@chalasgftreats)
